i'm so excited to finally be able to share the world's sweetest pictures with you guys!! meet my newest nephew, sam. back in february, when sam was about one week old, i took some newborn shots of the wrinkly little man. i think they came out pretty cute, check them out!

this weekend, mike took me away on a little adventure. for my birthday, he booked us (and the pups) a room at an awesome little inn in provincetown. so we packed ourselves up and headed down to the beach. what a PERFECT weekend!!!

we were all so excited to get our toes (and paws) in the sand.

coronas were a must. 

the pups were psyched to have the beach to themselves. they played and played...

and ate A TON of sand.

after a few hours at the beach, we headed to our little home for the night. our room was giant and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. ruby made herself right at home. 

we left the dogs in the room to let them rest for awhile (or to bark at every single person that walked by!!) and went across the street for a little happy hour action. i may or may not already be in summer mode... woops!

yup, i am. 

a little later on, we headed down the road to watch the sunset. if you know me, you probably know that i am pretty obsessed with sunsets and it was such a gorgeous night...i just sat there feeling very very thankful. 

it was the BEST weekend. i feel like i've been saying that a lot lately, and that makes me one lucky girl.

i don't know about you guys, but i'm pretty happy about this long weekend we've got here. mike and i are going away for the weekend and i can't wait to smell the sea again.

last weekend, my mom & i went out east to visit my sister and to do a little shopping. we took the baby and the pup to the beach for a little bit, and it was glorious.

last week, i was getting gas on a freezing cold morning and pulled these gems out of my long north face coat:

it's amazing how happy a mussel, some baby sea stars, and a few pieces of sea glass can make me.

another thing that makes me so insanely happy: kenny chesney talking/singing/thinking about anything having to do with st. john or jost van dyke. so this new rum he's got coming out in may is making me pretty happy. i am seeing a summer full of rum in my little world. 

and if you love love like me {and country music}, you will probably love this song. this is my new favorite love song and i cry on the inside every time i hear it.

best thing i've heard in awhile: "life's a long and winding ride, better have the right one by your side"

lots & lots of outfits and will you come to my tag sale?!

hi guys! i have a bunch of outfits to show you from the past couple of weeks, but i have been so NOT excited about my clothes lately! i have been throwing some pretty good "i have NOTHING to wear" hissy fits in the mornings lately, like high school style {which i know is ridiculous because i have three closets and many many drawers bursting with clothes} but i have identified two of the main reasons for these bad mornings: 1) i am over the cold weather. i am 100% ready to wear tank tops, dressed, skirts, & sandals. 2) my style has changed & i am over the flowy comfy stuff that i was loving this fall and ready to wear some fitted, flattering stuff. 

i have been going through my stuff to see what i do still like and what i am over. i brought my first bunch of retired clothes to plato's closet the other day... stuff that i don't like anymore and pants that are too big...

they didn't take much and i only got $28 for what they did take, so i am planning a little tag sale for later this spring where i will be selling a bunch of nice clothes and a lot of home goods that we don't use or have room for anymore {rugs, glassware, decorations, decorative pillows, etc}. basically awesome stuff that is just not my favorite style anymore. wanna come?!?

a pony party

this weekend, we celebrated my niece, isla's, fifth birthday. my sister threw her an over-the-top pony party and you can pretty much say she was the happiest five year old alive!

check out her awesome new boots. we all know i am a sucker for some fun cowboy boots!

she broke those babies in when buster and cocoa came to give the kids rides up and down the driveway.

isla's little buddies were pretty cute. all TWENTY FOUR of them!!! my lord. but i especially loved the one in the middle. i could've kept her.

the next two pictures make my heart so happy. mike was the pinata guy and had to blindfold all of these children many many many times. he and my dad made it pretty tricky for those little people. and, magically, no teeth were lost during the game!

sam was a really awesome party guest too! he slept through most of it...

but when he woke up, he had his party face on!

the kids took home these stick ponies as favors... not gonna lie, i kind of wanted one!

and look at the gorgeous cake my sister made. she is amazing.

and isla is pretty awesome too <3
