nooks & crannies

when i moved into my little casa, all of the walls were white, the floors were shiny hardwood, and i pretty much had a "blank slate" to work with. i immeditaely painted the living room- literally the night i closed, my best friend and her husband were over eating pizza, drinking margaritas, and painting my new living room... gosh i love them! after they left, i stayed up for most of the night painting the second coat and the hallway. i really am a crazy person.
every day after school i would come home and paint a room, and once all the rooms were painted, i repainted them (well, only two of them, but still). i just love the feeling of crisp, fresh color on the walls, and freshly touched up white trim.... ahhhh.
so now i have run out of rooms to paint and i finally love all of the colors on the walls... so i have moved onto into the closets!! there are seven closets in mi casa: two are for mike's clothes, three are for mine, one is the bathroom closet, and then there is the hall closet. i took the doors off of two of my closets, both of mike's, and the bathrooom closet because i just love the way they look when they are open or have a light curtain tied off to the side. i would honestly take the rest of the doors off too, i mean there are only two left on now ;) ... but the last closet of mine is attached to the crawlspace, so taking the door off would let the chilly air in, and i kind of like the way the hallway closet door looks nice and clean and sleek.
i am a dedicated young house love reader, and i was totally inspired by how john and sherry painted their little girl's closet in their first house and again in their new house.
i instantly thought: "painting the insides of closets fun colors isn't just for kids!!" so i got busy...
now i think i need to find a better way to organize the bathroom shelves-- yikes!!
